The West Coast Health Collective

A new practice is born! Registered midwives Alescia Richardson and Brandi Wasyluk of "The West Coast Health Collective" will begin accepting clients April 2012 with due dates in November 2012.

The practice will serve the communities of Abbotsford, Chilliwack and east of 248th in Langley with privileges at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Chilliwack General Hospital. The following is taken from their Facebook page:

We are a team of health care professionals working towards building a healthy community through a collaborative care model. We are dedicated to providing you with health care services which include Midwifery, Homeopathy and Nutritional counseling.

Description
Our Midwives will be starting to take women in to care who are due to have their babies in November 2012. We will officially be opening our doors in April 2012 by appointments only.

Our Homeopath will be joining us in June and our Nutritionist in September 2012.

We are both a clinic and a gathering space. Come for a short while, or come for a long while. There will often be something healthy brewing in the kitchen. You can also enjoy complementary warm and cold beverages while your children and family relax in our comfortable reception area.

We offer comfortable clinic rooms as well as a spacious reception area for groups, classes and families. Borrow a book from our lending library and come to an information night to learn amongst friends.

Within in a block of West Coast Health Collective you can find the Abbotsford Farmers Market, cafes, baby boutiques, salons, etc. There is plenty of free parking and we're also easily accessible by public transit.

Space available with the Abbotsford Midwifery Group

Abbotsford Midwifery Group has openings for women due in January 2012 and March 2012 - it's not too late to get a midwife. You can reach them at 604-859-4430 to set up an appointment. Midwifery services are completely covered by BC Medical.

December 20, 2012 Update ~ If you live in BC's Fraser Valley and thought you wouldn't be able to get a midwife to be your care provider it's not too late. The Abbotsford Midwifery Group has a few spaces available for January and March, one space for Feb and one space for April. Please pass on the information as they would be happy to accept some more women into care. Call 604-859-4430, or email abbotsfordmidwiferygroup@hotmail.ca.
